Press releases Luzenac Group adopts single brand name for all pitch and stickies control products4 August 2003 - Luzenac Group has decided to harmonise its range of pitch and stickies control talcs under a single brand name, Mistron®. For historical reasons, Luzenac has been using several brand names to cover its range of cost-effective, easy-to-use and environmentally friendly talc for pitch and stickies control. Luzenac sells over 200,000 tonnes of pitch and stickies control talcs each year. With the introduction of a single brand name, the company aims to clarify its product range for an increasingly international customer base, simplify communications with customers and ensure that all Luzenac's pitch and stickies control products are identified with the company name. Introduced in the USA in the 1950s, the Mistron® brand name has gained worldwide renown as the leading micronised talc product for pitch and stickies control. Mistron® will be replacing the five existing pitch and stickies control product names (Malusil® Steatrol®, Sartal®, Mistron Vapor®, PA 88) produced by Luzenac's processing plants in Europe and America. Luzenac is the world's premier talc producer, selling over a million tonnes of talc and talc-related minerals every year, of which 450,000 tonnes are used by the paper industry.
