Luzenac Group reorganises its business on a global basis

Luzenac Group, the leading talc producer, has announced the extension of its European business unit organisation model worldwide, effective 1st January. The four new global Business Units are centred on Luzenac's core markets of paints, paper, polymers and specialties (including ceramics, personal care, and agriculture & food).

The Business Units, with their sales and development departments, will continue to be based at the company's regional headquarters in Toulouse, Denver and Singapore.

Kent Cutler, formerly Vice President Sales and Logistics of Luzenac North America, has been appointed Vice-President of the new Worldwide Polymers Business Unit.

Jerry Gauntt, formerly Vice-President Business Development & Marketing of Luzenac North America, has been appointed Vice-President of the new Worldwide Specialties Business Unit.

Roger Jakeman and Graham Whiteley have been appointed Vice-President of the Worldwide Paints & Coatings and Paper Business Units respectively. Roger and Graham were formerly responsible for these BUs at a European level.

Patrice Gérault, formerly General Manager of Luzenac Europe, has been appointed Senior Vice-President Development. Reporting to Chief Operating Officer, Claude Stenneler, Patrice has worldwide responsibility for securing the internal and external development and growth of Luzenac.

Bernard Gavoille, formerly Global Mining & Technology Director has been nominated Vice-President Worldwide Resources with responsibility for defining Luzenac's ore utilisation and exploration strategy.

On the operations side, the key roles and responsibilities are as follows:

• Jon Godla, formely Vice-President Development of Luzenac North America, and Manfred Hoscher, formerly General Manager of Luzenac's operations in Austria have been appointed Vice-President Regional Operations North America and Europe respectively.
• Christophe Cabibel, formerly Sales Manager Europe BU Paints, has been appointed to the newly created position of Director Asia Pacific Operations.

Commenting on the new organisation, Joachim Roeser, President and CEO of Luzenac Group said "the new structure will enhance our global offer and improve efficiency".
