Luzenac Naintsch second-best in Austrian Mobility Award 2004

30 September 2004. Luzenac's Austrian operation, Luzenac Naintsch, came off second best at the Austrian Mobility Award 2004 ceremony held in September 2004. Every year, the Austrian Transport Club, together with the Ministry of Transport and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, rewards companies, authorities and NGOs for special projects that promote healthy and safe mobility in Austria. Under the project title "Luzenac Naintsch mobil - mit Verantwortung ans Ziel!" ("Luzenac Naintsch-mobile, and getting there responsibly!"), Luzenac Naintsch submitted a project, composed of a variety of activities and initiatives related to safety, environmental protection and health. The jury was particularly impressed with their scheme to encourage employees to use public transport instead of their cars to help reduce traffic pollution in the Graz area. Everyone who left their car at home received an all-day ticket for the Graz public transport system, and had his or her name entered for a prize draw organised by the company's HSE department.
